What the app does with your data

Phone Temp measures everything on your phone. It has no account, no analytics of its own and no server. What it reads and records stays on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage:

• the battery temperature, the heat status and heat headroom Android reports, the CPU temperature where the phone shares it, and the clock speed of each processor core;
• an optional temperature log (battery temperature, whether the phone was charging, Android's heat status), about every 10 to 15 minutes while the phone is awake; you can switch it off in Settings;
• the results of the throttling tests you run;
• only if you grant "usage access" in Android's settings: which app was on screen and when, used on the phone to estimate which apps warm the battery. Nothing of this leaves the phone.

CSV exports are saved only where you choose in Android's "Save as" dialog.

Advertising

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect your device's advertising ID, an approximate location derived from the IP address and information about ad interactions to show and measure ads. In the European Economic Area and the UK you are asked for consent first, and you can change it any time in Settings, "Ad privacy choices". See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Purchases

"Remove ads" is bought through Google Play. We never see your payment details; Google Play tells the app only whether the purchase is active.

Permissions

• Notifications: for the heat warning, the temperature in the status bar and the weekly summary, each only if you switch it on.
• Run at startup: to keep those features and the temperature log working after the phone restarts.
• Usage access (optional, granted by you in Android's settings): see above.
• Internet: for ads, the purchase and app updates. All measurements work offline.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

• die Akkutemperatur, den thermischen Status und die Hitzereserve, die Android meldet, die CPU-Temperatur, falls das Handy sie freigibt, und den Takt jedes Prozessorkerns;
• ein optionales Temperaturprotokoll (Akkutemperatur, ob geladen wurde, thermischer Status von Android), etwa alle 10 bis 15 Minuten, solange das Handy wach ist; du kannst es in den Einstellungen ausschalten;
• die Ergebnisse deiner Drosselungstests;
