Net Speed Meter measures everything on your phone. It has no account, no analytics of its own and no server. What it reads and records stays on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage:
The speed test runs only when you start it. It downloads random test data from our own server and uploads test data to it (the server runs on Cloudflare Workers; Cloudflare's network picks the data centre nearest to you, and the app shows its city). The requests contain only test data, no name, account or device id. Like every connection on the internet, the server sees your IP address while it answers; it is used only to answer that request and is not stored. The server keeps no logs and no results. The app keeps your last 50 results on your phone only. The result is the speed between your phone and our nearest server, not a promise about every website or service.
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob (none in your first session). Google may collect your device's advertising ID, approximate location derived from the IP address and information about ad interactions to show and measure ads. In the European Economic Area and the UK you are asked for consent first, and you can change it any time in Settings, "Ad privacy choices". See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
"Remove ads" is bought through Google Play. We never see your payment details; Google Play tells the app only whether the purchase is active.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
We update this page when the app changes what it does with data. Questions: [email protected].
