Delete it in the app
This is the fastest way and works immediately.
- Open Challenge Tracker and go to the Profile tab.
- Tap your account card, which opens the Account page.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Optional: tick "Also erase data on this phone" if you want the data on this phone removed as well.
- Confirm. If you signed in a while ago, the app asks you to confirm it is you first: with Google, or with your password if you use an email sign-in. This is a security check, so that nobody else can delete your account.
When it finishes, your online data is removed and you are signed out. The app keeps working without an account.
No access to the app? Ask us by email
You can also request deletion without opening the app, for example if you uninstalled it or lost your phone.
- Write from the email address you used to sign in to [email protected].
- Use the subject Delete my Challenge Tracker account.
- If you can, add your handle (the name that starts with @), so we find the right account.
Email a deletion request
We process the request within 30 days and confirm by email when it is done. If you no longer have access to the sign-in address, write from any address and give your handle. We may ask for extra proof that the account is yours.
What is deleted
Deleting the account removes, from our servers:
- your profile, display name, handle (it becomes free again) and privacy settings;
- your public profile, the challenge cards on it and your place on the leaderboards;
- the synced copy of your challenges, progress, XP, badges, rewards and text notes;
- your friend connections, friend requests you sent or received, your blocks and your favourites;
- activity posts you authored, in your feed and in your friends' feeds, and the reactions and comments you wrote;
- community templates you published (with their rating average), and the stars you gave to other people's templates (their averages are recalculated without yours);
- group challenges you own (they end for every member), and your membership, progress and emoji cheers in groups you joined;
- the sign-in account itself (your email address, name and sign-in details at Firebase Authentication).
What we keep after deletion, and why
- Reports. A report you made about someone, or a report about content you posted, may be kept for safety, moderation and legal claims. Only we can read reports, and they are not shown to other users.
- Copies and reactions other people made. If another user copied your template or joined your group challenge, their copy is on their phone and belongs to them. Reactions, comments and stars that other people left on your posts or templates are theirs too. Once your content is gone nobody can see them, and they are removed when those people delete their own accounts.
- Technical copies. Short-lived backups and logs at Google may remain for a limited time under Google's terms.
- Our correspondence. The emails we exchange about your request are kept as long as needed to handle it and to meet legal duties.
- We keep no other personal data about you after deletion, beyond what the law requires us to keep.
Data that is not on our servers
- Data on your phone (challenges, photos, videos, settings) is not deleted by account deletion unless you tick "Also erase data on this phone". You can remove it later with Settings > Your data > Delete all data, or by uninstalling the app. Uninstalling the app alone does not delete your online account.
- Ads. Google handles ad data. Manage it in your Google account's ad settings and in your phone's advertising settings.
- Health Connect. The app never writes to Health Connect and does not store raw records. Remove the app's access in Health Connect on your phone.
